Great Weekand in Flores/Tikal!!!

Man was this weekand one of the best or the worst? Well to start 9off we left Antigua and flew over to Flores in a mini airplane. The weather here was so much better, hot although humid and little rain what so ever. We ended staying at a hotel called Casona de La Isla and it was awesome! The hotel was painted many different colors like many of the things down here in Guate! (As the bus drivers call it) We all lpaired up iun twos and slept in different rooms on different levels of the hotel. On the first day we spent nearly all damn day in the pool, literally!!!!!! they had a pool that started out at about 2 feet and then ended at like 5 ft 7 inches or somewhere around there. Because thne waether was so hot the warm itself when we all got into it. It had a little replica of a rock mountain with two little water fountains which were the best spots for pics! I personallay wass in the pool for about 3 hours and then inside the hot tub for about 6. We went to lunch and dinner at a couple of different places and they were extremely cheap! After dinner we all wemnt back home and I jumped rght back into the pool and then everyone else jumped in. We stood there to about 10 30 and then went to different rooms to watch movies, well peopel came to me and Jose's room.
The next day we woke up at 6 in the morn to get prepaered top go to Tikal! We had about an hour ride before we got there and we stopped at this cool store that donated ten ppercent of its profits to a nearby school. Our tour guide was the best one I had ever had in my life before. He was a Mayan descendant named Julio Vazques and spoke both spanish and nearly perfect English!!! He talked to us about the Mayans, how they supposively dissapeared and what really happened before we hit the gates of National Rain Forest. There we drove about twenty to thirty miles of road trying to spot some tropical animales, which we did not. After that we began aour 4 hour tour of the Mayan Temples and their historical lands before we arrived at dinner (The best massed produced food I have ever tasted, buffets of America watch out) The tour was uber wicked. We were fed loads of information about the Mayans and the Temples they built for their Kings!!! We even got to climb 3 of them, 2 of them which had extremely steep stairs which read DEATH all over them. It was ridiculous how high we had climbed up those temples and how one copuld speak in a normal tone and have conversation with someone at the bottom!
Through the Rain Forest we spotyted some of Spider Man's Pet Monkeys swinging and jumping from New Jungle City! Some orange and yellow millipedes were spotted along the way along with millions of baby locusts!!! Towards the end Toucan Sam dropped buy and showed us the beautifulness of his bill, but he didn't feel like given sharing his froot loops. King Kopng Jr. was there being as Lazy as a sloth in his tree and Daddy Long Legs payed us a visit. Unfortunately when I picked him up he didn't bite me because his teeth were to small to do so...... damn guess I wont be slinging my way back to Antigua...
Dinner was great! I had vegie soup, beef steak, and watermelon with pineapples! What a meal that was.....still left me hungry. Gitta Go Now So Talk Later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Near Death Experience On Volcanoe!!!!

Yesterday went well. I got up went to school and and came to eat. Man the conversations with Hannah and Katey just keep on getting funnier and funnier. Hannah just admitted she thinks she is a hypochon and Katey says she feels like shes got some add just like me sabe and jose.... lol! We4ll afterwards we took an hour lonng trip to the Volcanoe we were set to climb. When we got there we joined up as a group and began our hour and a half hiking adventure to the top. At first we were being chased by little 2 to 10 year olds that wanted us to buy climbing sticks from them and men with horses who wanted us to pay them for a ride up. Madd people got tired along the way and ended up riding horses (Lazy Excuses For Americans They Are....exceot for those with problems) Me and Sabe ran, jumped and hopped our way all the way to the top and almost collapsed before we hit the lava rocks. Along the way the horses made alot of fresh CHOCOLATE (S#it) next to the expired ones we found along the road...lol. When we made it to the top it was alot easier but scarier. We had to climb and travel on cooled down lava rocks and alot ofthe peopel in our groups could not handle themselves. There was about half an hour of travelling on the rocks until we reached some lava under rocks which melted me and sabe's sneaks. Then about half and hour more of travel before we came across a small river of live LAVA flowing down towards us. We spent about twenty to thirty minutes up there looking and messing with it. Sabe and I got as close as three feet away from it and stuck a long stick that we had into it releasing instantaneous bursts of flames. Our eyes almost burned off , along with ourt skin and sneaks. We eventually left and thats when all went bad. Sabes ankle eventually got swollen from all of the jumping and running and he could not continue and futher distance without assistance (Oh was that a Rhyme ...Madd Skills) So me and Mr. Levy carried him along the cooled lava rock path. We a bad fall in whicih sabe was pierced with a jagged edge of a rock directly on his back and one in which he fell directly on his ribs (which left a very small fracture) and almost sent him falling off a cliff and me nearly flying off a cliff when i leaped forward to make sure they didn't fall. I had about 6-7 falls and two cathes (Caaught Sabe) We eventually made it off the lava after an hour and then walked sabe to a horse that was waiting for him. He could barely get on and almost didn't make it back down the hour and a half decline we had to make. I never left his side until we got on the bus....For me there was just a bit of swelling and alot of horse pee and S#it But I thank God That We All Made It Out Of Here Okay!!! Baby i Love You SO MUCH AND ARE REALLY THE ONLY ONE OTHER THAN FAMILY THAT IS REALLY HERE FOR ME!!!! (exluding Keinan) I LOVE YOU SOO MUCH!!!!! AND MISS YOU MORE THAN I MISS BEING ABLE SLEEP!!!!
MEH TUMSE PYAAR KARTHO HOON MERI JAAN MI AMOR!!!!!!

P.S. - Ohh yeah and me and Sabe have some hilarious videos of us messing with Jose M. while he sleeps.... lmfao!!!!!

Finally Here!!! Day - 2

Hey, how is it going readers. I finally made it to Guatemala and man this place is crazzzzzzzzzzy! It so different from the enviornment that you are used to seeing over en Las Estados Unidos! The environment is alot poorer down here (So Camden No More Excuses). When we arrived we took a packed bus about half an hour to Antigua and noticed the ridiculous driving down here. I would pay these people to be professional stunt drivers in my movie! When we finally arrived at home we met our host mom and dad Senora Malta (Yeah Like The Drink... lol..!) and Senor Mario (Mario bros sipping on Malta in the house) They are madd chill! They had three rooms for us and but we all decided to sleep in the upstairs room lol! We moved two beds into the room by this uber narrow spiral stairs. We set uo our stuff and roamed around Antigua for the rest of the day looking for phone cards, and viewing the sites. Jose BROKE the poor people's shower head!!!! We ended up waking up at round 5. 10 thinking that it was 6. 45 but anyways school was fun but tiring and we got these two new room mates from europe who are pretty hilarious with the heaviest accent I have ever seen!!! Love Accents....lol I am really lonely though I really dont have a steady buddy .....I guess it goes to show that My One And True Love is the only one that will always be there for me. I Love You SO Much Zaira Tavarez!!!! And I cant wait to see you!!!! Well G2G so talk to you later. Bye The Way I am Writing From the McDonalds which is way better than any American One Bye The Way......

Studying Abroad Newbie

Hey, my name is Jose Tavarez, and I am a 16 year old DominiRican. I am an upcoming junior who attends MetEast High School in Camden, New Jersey. My world revolves around health & exercise, sports, and technology. I'm a workout freak and LOVE eating good food. My personal favorite sport is Baseball (Albert Pujols) , and I intend on picking up the new Blackberry Bold or HTC Touch Pro when they come out. Games are a great source of entertainment for me; I have natural talent for shooting games (Halo, Gears of War) and racing games (Gran Turismo 5 Prologue). I am sort of a collector of many sorts. I like to save memories with different types of memorabilia (Like a Powerade bottle I bought for my girlfriend when she was sick and I took care of her) and baseball cards as well.
I am going to be attending a study abroad trip to Antigua, Guatemala. This will be the first time that I travel to another continent, so I guess that makes me a newbie. I really want to attend this trip for many different reasons. Some of them include allowing me to develop better relationships with the people I travel with, experiencing and being exposed to a different environment of living, and I am really looking forward to getting my slang Spanish butt beaten by the fluent and correct Spanish speaking residents of Antigua (lol). Previously, I have traveled to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico for a total number of 4 times I believe. They were all great experiences and were fun, but that is because I am Dominican and Puerto Rican and familiar with people there. I do not know how I will fair in a place where I am totally foreign to their language and styles of living.
Thinking about finally going, I am anticipating the difficult times I may have trying to communicate speaking the slang Spanish of my DominiRican Culture. Along with that, I am hoping to find a new style of food that I can devour! (I am SOOO tired of rice) I really look forward to meeting new people and making some pen pals throughout my stay and seeing how well they can play some baseball! Maybe they can teach me a thing or two about how they rock their clothing down there. I just might come back as South America's Next Top Dresser (No pictures please... lol). I know I am definitely going to bring some of Antigua back to America! And Maybe just maybe, they can tour me around and show me some volcanoes and we can play hide the American from the organ stealers (ROTFL).
Well that is it for now, just can wait for the glorious day to come. Hope you guys enjoy the read and remember, bring space suits to prevent organ stealing!!!
